Shatha Yas is a writer and comedian – born and raised in Palestine. After a decade in foreign policy (yes, she’s still recovering), she defected to comedy to tell stories about niche worlds and the absurdities of life and politics.

A finalist at the 2024 ATX TV Festival Pitch Competition and a second-rounder at the Austin Film Festival, Shatha is also an alum of the Yes, And… Laughter Lab.

She recently earned her MFA from the Killer Films x Stony Brook University TV Writing program and is developing her first web series, The Arab Olympics!
